People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien stands beside his sculptures in his creative space. For him, each form begins with a story and emotion about humanity.

Growing up surrounded by art, one thing that's easily noticeable when talking to People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien is that despite having held many positions, from artist and theater manager to cultural leader, when discussing creative work, he still retains the enthusiasm of a true professional. He can talk about a large monument with the meticulousness of a sculptor, and then immediately enthusiastically discuss a small work, a humorous idea, or a funny aspect of life. For him, art must first and foremost have emotion.

“What I always aim for is aesthetic emotion in the artwork, regardless of the style or subject matter…!” he shared. That spirit is also reflected in the upcoming exhibition, "Small Stories, Big Stories," at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. This is a special exhibition for People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien, as he is dedicating the entire space to showcasing his sculptures. “I’ve held many solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. But this is an exhibition entirely of sculptures. There are big ones and small ones…! The ones that are too big to bring back and display, so I have to introduce them through photographs,” he said.
