Aston Martin has unveiled the Valen during Monterey Car Week, calling it the most powerful front-engined car ever built by a manufacturer and the most powerful front-engined V12 supercar in the brand’s 113-year history. The car is the newest addition to Aston Martin’s line of limited-production twelve-cylinder specials, built through the company’s bespoke Q by Aston Martin division and its newly formed Special Vehicle Operations department.

Power comes from the brand’s most potent version of its 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12, producing 850 PS and 1000 Nm of torque from as low as 2500rpm. A full carbon fiber body keeps weight down, with the platform shedding up to 110kg through the use of carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, and magnesium. An optional lightweight package with machined aluminum suspension arms, knuckles, and titanium chassis bolts trims a further 16.9kg.

A sharper-shifting 8-speed ZF transmission draws on shift strategies developed for Aston Martin’s Vantage GT4 race program, cutting Valen’s 0-100km/h time to 3.0 seconds. Top speed is electronically capped at 214mph. Drivers can choose between Sport, Sport+, and Track modes, each with its own throttle mapping — Sport and Sport+ deliver power earlier in the pedal’s travel for road driving, while Track mode uses a longer, more progressive response suited to on-limit precision.

Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s director of vehicle performance, said that starting with the world’s most powerful front-engined production car made for an enjoyable project. He added that every change to the powertrain and chassis was aimed at intensifying the car’s character while keeping it accessible across skill levels.

New lightweight magnesium wheels come standard, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero R tires (275/35 ZR21 front, 325/30 ZR21 rear) developed specifically for Valen, with a P Zero Winter 2 option also available. The car uses Pirelli’s Cyber Tire technology, developed with Bosch Engineering, which feeds real-time tire data into the vehicle’s ESP, ABS, and traction control systems, allowing them to adjust their thresholds on the fly.

Chassis changes focus on lateral stiffness front and rear, reducing roll and pitch to sharpen agility while retaining what Aston Martin describes as a playful handling balance. Steering has been retuned for feel and response, aiming to make Valen drive like a smaller, lighter car. A solid-mounted rear subframe, model-specific springs and helper springs, and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers round out the setup, paired with 410mm front and 360mm rear carbon ceramic brakes.

A new titanium exhaust system with micro mufflers was built specifically for Valen, cutting weight while shaping the car’s sound. Four tailpipes, formed from 3D-printed titanium, are split between two upper and two lower exits — the upper pair stays open at all times, while the lower pair opens depending on drive mode. Aston Martin says the tuning reduces lower frequencies in favor of higher tones, with the upper exhaust outlets designed to resonate like organ pipes at higher engine speeds.

On design, Aston Martin’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman said Valen allowed the team to push more extreme emotion into a new form language, marking a departure from previous models through sharper lines and a more aggressive stance. Deeply recessed headlamps sit beneath a plunging bonnet line, paired with a more angular grille and front splitter. The bonnet carries a single top vent, while elongated side strakes now double as functional vents pulling air from the wheel arches. Saw-tooth vortex generators along the sills manage underbody airflow to reduce lift.

At the rear, a fixed window and trunk lid give way to a single tailgate incorporating an aerodynamic wing, opening to a 170-liter trunk. An optional Touring Pack adds bespoke luggage sized for the space, along with a soft cover to protect the paintwork when loading. A full-width light bar beneath the tail doubles as a Gurney flap for downforce without a traditional wing, and twin high-set tailpipes sit above the rear diffuser.

The show car wears a Q Ultra satin finish called Andromeda Red, blending deep red, copper, and gold tones that shift toward blue depending on the light, achieved through Chromaflair pigment technology. Aston Martin is also offering a fully exposed carbon fiber exterior option, with herringbone weave running down the car’s centerline and the option to tint the carbon in various colors and finishes, including bespoke tints developed with the Q team.

Inside, a slimmer center console — enabled by 3D-printed components — houses the switchpack first seen on Valhalla, angled toward the driver. Buyers can choose between newly developed Sports Plus seats or lightweight carbon fiber performance seats. Trim options start with a choice between Semi-Aniline Leather with Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline Leather, followed by five material splits ranging from Monotone to Tritone, plus a driver-focused option and an accent pack for contrast detailing. 3D-printed cabin elements echo details from Valkyrie and DBS Zagato, and a new range of anodizing colors expands personalization options through Q by Aston Martin.

Production is limited to 150 units, with first deliveries set for the second quarter of 2027.
